In Today's feature we visit Frederick, a community in the neighboring state of Maryland where there is an active small animals rescue group. Although the area's name, Frederick, is similar to Fredericksburg, it is likely not of the same origin. But as with Fredericksburg, the Frederick, Maryland area has several shelters and foster homes for animals. One of those is Small Angels Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. On Saturday, October 10th, Small Angels Rescue held their annual gathering entitled Blues in the Barn. We'll talk with Kristy Tevelow, Angela Moxley, and Michelle Clowe, who tell first hand about their work with critters small and furry.

And we'll close with a special recording of the group The Hard Swimmin' Fish performing live at the Blues in the Barn event.
